From the partnership between Acquera, Umana and Ciset, Acquera Academy is born.

Acquera Academy is the 1st international Super Yacht Agent academy for the training of employees and managers who intend to work in the Super Yacht and luxury market. The training centre which aims to attract young people from all around the world to Venice, will initially focus its courses on the two key aspects of the yachting sector.

On one hand, the training of employees and future managers who will deal with the traditional service supply to large yachts in order to revolutionize the relationship between yacht owners, captains, crew, and local agency service providers. On the other hand, the creation of new business roles specialized in the setting up, planning and implementation of so-called “experiences”, i.e. unique and exclusive activities related to culture, entertainment, sport and events, dedicated to the highest level of luxury tourism. In both cases, the newborn Venetian “Academy”, which will initially train young people mainly destined to find employment within the Acquera group (recently also at the centre of a big innovative effort in the field of digitization of the super yacht services) aims to make Venice a multitasking hub for the super yacht sector, not only by offering mooring opportunities, (even in winter) , but especially to lay the foundations in the lagoon for the concept and a new approach to the world of luxury tourism and of the yachting sector at the highest level.

Furthermore, the participation of Ciset, which is part of Ca’ Foscari University of Venice and the Veneto Region, is not accidental: thanks to its thirty years of experience in the development of tourism in the area, it will support the attendees in developing their passion as well as their managerial skills and knowledge of the local area which are essential to make top-level experience proposals on the Italian market.

Stefano Tositti, the CEO of Acquera Group, stresses the fact that “The luxury yachting market must be free from the occasionally anachronistic constraints which affect its growth. And the key to making a qualitative leap in terms of its current growth is undoubtedly the training of qualified professionals who, from ashore, provide super yachts with the technical, operational, and managerial support which in such an elitist market is a must”.

“A top-level Academy which will allow for the selection and training of professionals capable of quickly entering a rapidly developing industry which represents one of our country’s strenghts– explains Maria Raffaella Caprioglio, president of Umana -. This path stems from an all-Venetian partnership, which looks to the international market and requires complex and highly professional skills, aimed at building a training hub in the city for high-standing professionals dedicated to sector services at the national level. The Academies, which create innovative teaching modules, are meant to design courses for companies and at the same time allow the younger generations to acquire those skills which are in great demand to closely follow the development plans of the most innovative companies practically and quickly.

“It is a project whose focus is on innovation- says prof. Michele Tamma, professor of Management at Ca’ Foscari and President of Ciset – and in order to do so, it puts identifying and investing in human resources at the heart of the project. In the field of tourism and culture, sustainability and the international competitiveness of our country’s and businesses’ strengths require greater product differentiation and the customization of offers. In order to “raise the bar,” we have put together the qualified skills of partner companies, research developed at Ca’ Foscari, the long experience through study and Ciset’s implementation on the ground. A path which, through collaboration, enhances the complementary skills which exist in our field. In the future, we will need to encourage people to work together to truly make the most of their potential”.
