Located just 10 km south of the city of Bursa and less than 200 km from Istanbul, at 2000 m, Mount Uludağ is considered Turkey’s largest ski resort. This ski town has a lot to offer and is very popular with the people living in Istanbul : as a matter of fact, it enjoys 30 km of slopes and 24 lifts for alpine skiing, snowboarding, ice skating and snow biking, and dozens of accommodation options to choose from. We know from experience that this place is a winter paradise! Great for crews staying over in Istanbul for the winter, as Uludağ is easy to reach by car.

Kartalkaya – Bolu
Kartalkaya, one of Turkey’s most popular ski tourism centers in the northwestern region, attracts thousands of local and foreign tourists and can be reached in a couple of hours from Istanbul. Its ski resort at 1850 m boasts 20 km of slopes and 25 different tracks. It is perfect for both alpine and cross-country skiing as well as snowboarding. Kartalkaya and the sorrounding areas are covered with forests so you will enjoy a stunning scenery.
Erciyes – Kayseri
This resort should be high on the bucket-list of every winter sport lover! At 3000 m in the highest mountains in central Anatolia, Erciyes is one of the best ski and snowboard resorts in Turkey, with 14 ski lifts and 34 runs. The resort is open from the beginning of December to the end of April. Aside from snowboarding and skiing, a third option is snow-kiting on the frozen lake right next to the resort.
Palandoken – Erzerum
This is another destination which should be high on your bucket list! In the eastern Erzurum province, just 15 minutes from Erzurum airport, Palandoken offers guests 15 kilometers of uninterrupted skiing, and is known as Turkey’s longest ski track. It also stands out for its efficient transport system, comfortable accommodation and lots of outdoor sports. Both professionals and beginners can enjoy skiing at an altitude of 3200. Every year, the Ejder Peak attracts adrenaline seeking tourists, both local and international. Last but not least, you will also find an “artificial ice mountain,” built on the southern runway at an altitude of 2,300 meters, and a 700-meter-long zipline. If you are not into skiing or snowboarding, why not try paragliding, ice climbing or sledding?
Sarikamis – Kars
You’ll find Turkey’s best snow among its pine forests in Sarikamis.Sarıkamış Ski Resort (at 2,200-2,900) has a first stage chairlift at 1,435 m and a second stage chairlift at 2,250 m. What’s more, there are also 7 ski tracks located in Sarıkamış Ski Resort including 5 tracks of 12 kilometres in the middle of the forest.
